You should consider writing in and complaining. This is absolutely a flight where they give them out FAs should know better.
I would usually consider writing in with complaint, but I have no status on UA anymore and last time I sent in a complaint about a more serious issue UA just sent a canned response and that was it. Doubt my complaint will go anywhere for PJs.
