in the context of these changes, the BAC 'enhancements' p*sses me off even more to a large extent
it seems BA has all the potential to be evolving into a competitive airline, new club suite, new lounges, new first class seats, finally consolidating into a robust IT platform, despite people endlessly moaning here very often BA remains very competitive from a pricing perspective both with their premium fares as well as with basic economy, so why oh why did they have to upset so many people with the BAC changes?
by all means they could have still changed into revenue based but i really don't think that doing it properly would have been that difficult, like throw in a handful of lounge access vouchers for bronze, add a few more ways to add TPs (like iberia were doing), give more certainty on the bonus TP front to smooth the transition, and above all message it with an honest 'we are making large investments and we need to align the rewards to our business model, many people will benefit from these changes but understand that many people will be disappointed' throw in a couple of goodies to sweeten the message, a lot of people will have no doubt moaned and moaned but many more will have been ready to give them the benefit of the doubt
