$34 for airport food sounds standard. $20 toasted sandwich, $8 Mac & cheese, $6 for airport taxes and tip… airport tax is probably as bad as hotel tax with 15-25% for combo of food tax and health surcharge etc
i buy meals at airports all the time plus I’ll buy food to bring on the plane because heaven forbid that my flight becomes the one that’s sitting on the tarmac for 3-6 hours. I did suffer a 1-2 hour tarmac MX on AS for dca-sfo and while I definitely appreciated and used their $100 cert given out later in the flight, I still was happy to have food if our MX lasted another few hours.

Yes but you can’t buy nor cook the food at an airport. It’s always going to be cheaper to cook at home. This is an airport meal.
