Question Expiry of Cathay Pacific Asia Miles?

Hi there,

I am aware that 18 months of inactivity will lead to my points/miles on the account to expire. Unfortunately it has been 15-16 months since the last time I flew with Cathay Pacific.
I tried reading the T&C's on Cathay Pacific but seems they only mention earning (by flying) and spending (by booking an award ticket) and I don't plan on doing neither of those two in the upcoming year sadly. So my only option is to perhaps add points?

I would like to know if transferring AmEx points will reset the timer and all my points won't expire for another 18 months?
Is it certain that transferring a bit of AmEx points will help me with the expiry and save me for another 18 months?

Thank you in advance!
