BA and VS do cooperate, although the fleet overlap is quite small. We do get, for instance, support from EK at DXB, or KLM in many places, or SAA in South Africa, and so on. There's no animosity at operations level.
in my experience, engineering people are much more interested in finding solutions, than being tribal !
