I've started reading reviews on Flyertalk and elsewhere and at least in Innsbruck and Split, titanium member reviews say they were offered free breakfast.
Does anyone have a list which ones offer free breakfast and which ones just give the $10/credit?
No list that I'm aware of.
In 2024, at AC Hotel Glasgow and AC Hotel Inverness, my wife and I both received excellent buffet breakfasts at no cost each morning because of my Titanium Elite status.
In 2022, at Moxy York UK and Moxy Chester UK, my wife and I both received decent buffet breakfasts at no cost each morning for the same reason.
These are examples of hotels that provide better elite breakfast benefits than the minimum required by the Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions. Lodging is a competitive business. Taking excellent care of guests who are loyal to your brand is smart.
But that doesn't mean that other hotels of these brands also exceed what's in the Terms & Conditions.
The daily USD$10 (equivalent if outside USA) F&B credit for Platinum Elite (and above) member-plus-one at Courtyard, AC Hotels, and Moxy is an awkward benefit. Marriott Bonvoy would be a stronger program if these brands consistently offered the same breakfast benefit as Four Points and Aloft -- especially considering that AC Hotels are in many ways equivalent to full-service hotels, despite being classified as Select Service.
For guests, the perceived value of complimentary breakfast is much greater than the perceived value of an inadequate F&B credit. For hotels, the actual additional cost is relatively small.
