Personally I find remote stands to be hit or miss. They can be a blessing sometimes if done efficiently.

My last experience at CDG was at terminal 3 with Air Transat. Busses were waiting for us, took us directly to passport control 5 meters from the bus; no walking for fifteen minutes.

Went from my seat to the RER station in fifteen minutes. I don't know if it's the same experience at the much busier terminal two.
