Even with no checked bag, the 8am flight could be iffy for several reasons. If compounded, could miss that flight. Actual arrival time, passport control lines, security lines for Terminal 2 entry to name some. If you have priority pass or other lounge access, the later flight could provide sufficient time to grab something to eat or even shower (depending on lounge).
Missing the 8am and rebooking is also iffy, depending on whether the 945am is fully booked on date of arrival.
