I had a misconnection with Iberia flying within the EU via MAD. The first flight was delayed, causing me to miss the connecting flight and I was rebooked onto the next flight which was the following day. Iberia provided a hotel but I wish to claim EU261 compensation for the delay, which I believe should be €400 as my journey was over 1,500km and I arrived more than 3 hours late.
I submitted a claim with Iberia and got the usual generic reply:
This didn't address the issue of compensation at all, so I submitted another claim and got this reply 30 minutes later:
So, they still haven't actually addressed the issue of compensation, nor given any reason why it would not be due (the delay to the first flight was not caused by extraordinary circumstances). They obviously just want me to go away.
In response to this I submitted a third complaint with Iberia, and this time said that I will submit a complaint with AESA if this is not resolved satisfactorily.
If Iberia still doesn't want to play ball, I fully intend to go down the AESA route. Navigating their website isn't that easy, though.
From what I understand reading the previous posts in this thread, you first need to create an e-signature for foreigners if you're not Spanish:
https://sede.seguridadaerea.gob.es/s...Safcce?lang=en
And then fill out this form:
https://sede.seguridadaerea.gob.es/s...barque-y-pmr-1
However, I can't actually get the form linked above to work. Have I missed anything?
