No - it would just be AA coded and operated by EI

At the moment you don't even earn Elite Points on an IB coded flight operated by LATAM for example.
Heres the thing .... Im new to Iberia Plus and know fairly little about the programme other than what I can read on the website (the English version of the website is pretty shocking in its use of English and its updated information - ( I even found the social media page pointing to a google application that was withdrawn in 2023 - but I digress.....) so, I had wondered if maybe the Spanish language pages had some better language around this - my Spanish is not terribly good, and definitely not precice enough to understand what I need to here).
My thought process is this:
From this page
https://www.iberia.com/us/news-updat...plus-2025-faq/ ....
I can see that under the section titled :Earning Elite Points when flying with partner airlines
The first question it poses relates to BA and AA ticketed flights and states the following:
"Flights with a British Airways code (BA) or American Airlines code (AA) will earn Elite Points under the new mechanism."
(So, this does not sound like IB ticketed AA or BA flights....right ?)
Then next question :
"What if I buy my ticket from Vueling? " - so that is definitely talking about VY ticketed flights....
Next...is the one Im interested in:
[url=https://www.iberia.com/es/news-updates/iberia-plus-2025-faq/#]Will there be any changes to the method for collecting Elite Points on flights operated by one world or other partner airlines?
Yes, we've updated the distance tables for flights operated by other airlines in [url alt="Go to oneworld page"=https://www.iberia.com/es/our-alliances/oneworld/]oneworld * or by other [url alt="Go to codeshare partners page"=https://www.iberia.com/es/our-alliances/codeshare/]partner airlines. You'll continue to collect points according to the distance flown, fare class and cabin in which you fly.
So.....
Here is a situation where I have an airline (EI) that is not in oneworld but IS a partner airline - at least according to the link that is given in the FAQ (in English - and we have already established, the English website of Iberia is not the greatest for clarity).
The asterisk at the bottom states the following:
*As with the current method, only flights with a code by a [b]oneworld airline, operated by that airline or another member of the oneworld alliance, will accumulate Elite Points.
So, the ticket would be issued by AA (a oneworld airline) -and although it falls foul of the oneworld alliance - it is a partner airline as far as the English language FAQ is concerned .....
This is not mentioning anything to do with IB ticketed flights and we have already established in the FAQ section, we are talking about flights ticketed/bought on partner airlines.
Yes, I realise there could be a situation where (idiotically) if I purchase an EI flight directly with EI, then it could be credited and receive Elite points, but if I book that same flight with another oneworld carrier, it would not ....but in the strictest terms, thats what this kindof seems to say, but that "oneworld or partner airlines" could also mean that EI booked with AA or BA even, with an AA or BA code, would also recieve points....
Hence why I really just wanted guidance from IB, but they havent been too useful unfortunately .... (the last guy I was on with - really tried, but he couldnt find the information either)....
Im not looking for what IB have done in the past or what the current programme does or does not cover or even heresay and folks thoughts on the matter - all I want to try and find out is if there is any chance that for the future Iberia plus programme - a flight with EI on a codeshare AA flight number on 001 stock (AA) ticket would earn Elite points ... and to point me in the right place to find that information when even the IB call centre are unable / unwilling to help.
How hard should that be to answer ?
Any chance someone could check the Spanish version of the FAQ to see if it makes things any clearer?
