Not quite and not quite.
There are some one-to-one relationships for aircraft model and seat, such as A321 and newest F seat, but there are also mixed relationships like 737's and any variety of F seat.
Probably best to discuss some particular routes and aircraft, rather than come up with general rules that have a slew of exceptions.
