Made an account just to say having same issue!
I transferred points Chase->Virgin Atlantic~6 months ago, points arrived in seconds. Tried today, error. Ended up disconnecting my Virgin account to try freshly connecting the account to Chase- couldn't connect, got the special handling error.
Called Virgin, they get an error and claim they can't do anything. The error they get could mean name mismatch, or member ID doesn't exist, it's unclear. However my name is exactly the same on both, and indeed no personal info has changed on either side in the last 6 months since the previous transfer. I called Virgin again, different agent, same result, but they submitted an escalation this time. Who knows how long that will take.... meanwhile I have an ANA F ticket on hold till tomorrow that it looks like I'm likely going to have to say goodbye to. What good are points if I can't use them?!
