I didn't want to start a new thread and found BRU and ARN mentioned here. Mods feel free to move...

What's up with ARN T4? I went through there 3 days ago - ARN-BRU on SN - originating at ARN - not a transfer. This was my 12th airport I've been through in 30 days - US, Asia, and Europe. I follow the rules in place - generally notebook, tablet, and liquids out. (PEK - also power sticks, coins, and umbrellas.)

At ARN, anything that involved electricity had to come out - portable mouse, small flashlight, the 2 AA batteries that I keep separate for the flashlight, power sticks, ear buds, ear phones, and I'm sure I'm missing something (in addition to the notebook, tablet, and phone). These needed to be laid out in the tray, each item separated from each other. It looked as if the scanning technology at T4 was from the mid 2000s if not earlier.

The above was not unique to me.

And ARN was the only airport where my checked bag was molested also. (I assume so because I use a zip tie to keep the zipper ends together and the zip tie remained in-place for all flights except ARN BRU.)

A bit of a rant (mainly due to the unpleasantness of the staff - and that was before I questioned the process - and was ignored), but also genuinely curious as its been a few years since I've been through ARN.
