There's little storage in the 2 seat rows and it's a pain to get out of the window seat if the aisle is reclined. IMO, the single (Throne) seat is better but you will have to get up if you want to interact with your sister. Last month, I flew LAX to BOS on a new 321XLR which has the new Mint suite and all are singles. If you can find this layout on the schedule, I'd choose it over the old layout.
