Question Istanbul Heavy Snow Cancelled Flights EU > IST > Asia

Hello everyone,

I’ve been reading up on EC261, and it appears that adverse weather conditions are considered an exception, meaning no compensation is typically provided.

However, I’m currently stuck in the EU for the next three days due to severe snow conditions in Istanbul (IST). I contacted Turkish Airlines (TK), and they confirmed that I am entitled to reimbursement for food, accommodation, and travel expenses. (100%)

The issue is that the airline couldn’t confirm the allocated amount for compensation or specify which hotels I can stay at. Given that accommodation and food are quite expensive here, I need clarity on what exactly is covered and how much I can claim.

For reference:
- My flight was scheduled for February 21st.
- I received the cancellation notice on the evening of February 20th.

What are my next steps in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
