No idea why I didn't even think of this until now. But one aspect that's definitely better for both the airlines involved and myself is I'm no longer incentivized to take circuitous routing for more elite points or even trying to force IRROPS to get full Y credit.

So they save costs and open up more inventory for other sales and I save headaches from more connections.
