for marina area, i like the fullerton and fullerton bay hotel (2 different hotels), and you can get great views (of the CBD and more) at night just by walking in the hotel's vicinity. there is also a raffles hotel nearby. fullerton and raffles hotel are heritage hotels and classified as national monuments of Singapore. barracks hotel is similar but sentosa is quite out of the way.

I had read some reviews, and the Fullerton was getting a lot of attention. If I recall correctly, Fullerton Bay slightly more than Fullerton. Do you have a preference? Either one that was just better, especially as a grand welcome to Singapore/SE Asia after a 17 hour flight?
Noted on Barracks in Sentosa, that's what I was thinking.
