Question for you, if you've been, do you feel like time spent in the rooms/plunge pools, beach, infinity pool / bar area, felt luxurious? Are those common areas enjoyable and well kept with staff around? Some of the videos made the resort look empty (which is frequently their purpose). Definitely not a campground feel, but more of a resort that is built into an existing jungle. There were rumors/talk that this property was originally built to be an Ritz Carlton Reserve and I can absolutely see that in the landscaping and design. This is not a standard 5* resort ala RC Bali - I felt that the StR looked far more generic which is why I chose the RC.
My understanding is that the StR beach isn't very good. The one at the RC is small, but secluded, and I thought it was nice enough. The beach on Datai Bay (home of the now burned down Luxury Collection The Andaman Resort) is much better though.
RC Langkawi is a special property. Certainly a step up from your typical Bonvoy property 5* resort in SEA.
