This thread has brought up some good memories and also probably gave some laughts to some front desk reps from other properties...
A few years ago I was staying in Chicago and decided to eat at Sun Wah BBQ for their special, not listed on the menu, roast duck dinner.
https://sunwahbbq.com/
I was traveling solo and knew I would not eat a full duck in one sitting, so I planned ahead and brought tupperware to the restaurant for all the leftovers.
When I got back to my midrange Marriott, I realized I hadn't packed any cutlery and the room had no refrigerator, so I prepared myself for a late-night snack.....It was past 11:00 PM and everything was closed, but I stopped by the front desk and asked if someone could grab me a knife and fork from the restaurant/kitchen.
There were 2 employees at the front desk, one left and came back in 1-2 minutes, carrying the silverware, and with a smile said, "just leave it outside your door when you are finished."
Recently, I thought about this thread and called a couple hotels that I am planning on staying at next month. I asked them if they allowed UberEats and Doordash, or if they had any special restrictions.
They paused, at my perceived stupidity, and said, "Nope."
