That’s not the whole story. I’ve tried switching the FFP on this reservation long before it started, to no avail. At check-in, they actually managed to switch the FFP number to FB, and the first flight credited to FB, but other flights to SkyMiles. In that sense, it’s DL that’s insisting on splitting the itinerary and crediting to different programs, not me.
The timeline is:
- Booked flights, added SkyMiles number to reservation at time of purchase
- Decided to switch programs to FB, so attempted to change FFP number to FB prior to check-in, but DL was unable to do so
- Check-in at airport was able to switch FFP to FB, with BPs indicating FB number, and first flight on itinerary crediting to FB
- Second and third flight nevertheless credited to SkyMiles
