in the interest of full disclosure, I have zero experience with any aspect of the FB program, as I’ve only taken four KL flights and successfully credited them all to DL

imo the answer to OP’s “why” questions is because the JV focus is on *revenue* sharing, and IT compatibility (i.e., information sharing, over and above what’s necessary to enable revenue sharing) is a distant afterthought
