I think that when some curveball or spannar was thrown be it Typhoon or heavy snow or (insert event) the whole smooth/follow the book system regardless ANA or JAL whole grind to a halt.

That experience during the 2019 Sept typhoon really kind of stuck on my mind when I was stuck at the airport literally one full day from 6am till following day 7am able to observe how things were breaking down as time goes on throughout the day. For some reason English was totally forgotten during commotion

No surprise if this keep happening even until today. I think more like societal thing then airline specific thing.
