Yeah, that's exactly why I was interested! The HP Moab was an incredible deal as a Cat 2 for at least a few years before it went straight to a Cat 5 so maybe this will be the same. One can dream anyway.
If you are looking for something, the Cliffrose might be a good option at $250/nt through
SkyAuction. The site looks super dodgy but I've used it many times back when they had Amex Offers. I last used it a couple of years ago to book a Fairmont and it still worked fine. Shame that their selection has shrunk so much.
Thanks. $250 is too rich for my blood. I don't love Zion (over-touristed by "Instagramers" these days) and I'm happy enought to just pass through in a day and stay someplace affordable like Hurricane. But, of course, I'll reconsider if the new Hyatt Place is reasonable. I visited the Moab Hyatt Place several times before it got expensive. Nice place. The last time -- just as they were raising the prices -- I booked 5 nights and got upgraded (by request) as a Globalist to the casitas. Now, I try to book rooms at the Moab Club Wyndham, which is still a steal if you can find award availability.
