Thought I would give this thread an update after 8 years, as it is mostly outdated since the Conrad is now a Hyatt Regency, but the Hilton is still the same. I was upgraded to Junior Suite, which big plus is faces the courtyard of the hotel, whilst is seems the regular rooms look out to the street. My room was a bit tired, not too bad, and there was a load of builders working on the rooms near me during the day, so at least they are updating things.
Breakfast was reasonable, but it was the basic standard fare you see in the Hilton/DT's in Mexico, and didn't do anything special on to of that.
The complex across the road that used to have many restaurants and bars has not recovered, and now there isn't much there. A deli is now a Mercedes showroom, now that is a random change of use! But there are load of food places a few blocks away on a main street.
The hotel is probably a better option than the Hampton Inn, which is right next to the elevated Ring Road, and going for the same sort of money when I stayed in San Luis Potosi.
