Restaurants pretty much always give points so I always put on room. If they don’t then call Marriott and they fix it. Most other charges to room (besides room itself) usually don’t count. Even resort fees often don’t count even though it is a part of the room rate - go figure. It usually is best to charge all to room assuming you use Marriott credit card for the 6/$.
