I don't know about LGW but there may in any case be several child meals rotating as there are for most SPML. You refer to child taste but that can vary a lot and in fact, many kids would like a pasta dish, and that seems to be the most frequent iteration from what I've seen. The kids in my family would definitely be approving of the principle! There is also the balance between providing something kids like and providing something healthy and balanced so if the hope was burger and chips, that's not going to happen. There have been a number of child meals posted in other threads (should be easy to search) but I don't know if any were ex-LGW. I remember seeing the pasta with vegetable of sorts multiple times (a particularly intense debate surrounded one such dish which includes aubergines!! ) as well as another which was some breaded chicken with peas carrots and mash.

The one thing to bear in mind is that with SPMLs, there is no choice, it comes as whatever the airline decides to do on that specific day and route, whilst a CW regular meal would always involve a choice of three starters (one of which is a soup), three mains (one of which will be vegetarian) and two desserts or cheese so if your kids are not too young or not too picky but you worry they didn't like the child meal last time, I sort of agree that sticking to a regular meal might be a slightly better choice because it would give them some choice. The flip side is that of course it may include options they wouldn't like - e..g if they don't like spicy food, there is always a chance a meat or chicken dish could be a curry. I would say the safest option would typically be the vegetarian pasta there but of course if they didn/t like it in the child meal that may not help.
