We did this arriving on QR from DOH (landing 7am-ish) with hand luggage and no issues.

Requires you to walk to a different terminal; Jambojet checkin quite fast and security is fast (and a bit disorganised).

Don't forget to get your SIM and mPESA before leaving the international terminal - no where to do it in Lamu
