It depends on what you consider "recent". My last stay there was last fall for a single night after a game. So, it was after the renovations but before Diamond's got Gold Lounge access. We stayed a night in a Gold Suite. It was beautifully finished, and the Gold lounge renovation was also excellent. I have no idea if crowds in the lounge are greater at this hotel since the new Diamond benefit.

I would not stay there in a non-renovated room. I don't know how many are still left, as it's a multi-year project to renovate 1,400 rooms and suites, but I have to think they're getting pretty close to finishing. The renovated rooms and suites are bookable in their own categories, so you can ensure you get a renovated room.
