I would suggest waiting until March to judge the new Hawaiian flagship meals. Might be really good and superb quality, for all we know. As for the fruite/cheese plate for dinner, maybe AA got feedback that some people would prefer a lighter, snack fare for dinner, so is offering that as an option— pmAA used to offer a fruit/cheese plate as a meal choice. To be fair, on redeye transcons, but still. Maybe they're providing this option to gauge interest?
I personally would not freak out — yet. Let's wait and see. And I honestly doubt AA will eliminate sundaes on this route.
