Given the amount of traffic that RNO would generate it doesn't make much sense for the airlines businesswise. There isn't a large population base in a reasonable distance to use capacity at LAX for a likely small ROI.
Well there’s like 4 or 5 other airlines flying this route (+ more out of BUR), so the traffic levels are there, but yields are probably depressed because of it.
AA has, in general, reduced flights out of LAX and hasn’t shown the willingness to fight for traffic share out of there as of late.
