Looks like travelmom4 and we were there at the same time. This is a luxury boutique hotel. It is on Carondolet about 4-5 blocks from Canal in the CBD. On request at check-in, we were upgraded to a premium king room. It was a very large corner room. Based on the size, it was more along the lines of a junior suite. Globalist arrival gift was a split of a French red wine with a couple of cookies with MM logo in royal icing. Generally very friendly. accommodating service.
The speakeasy bar was nice (hidden entrance from hotel, but there is a public entrance for it and the restaurant). There is an honor bar in a room off the lobby with free wine and cheese at times. Breakfast had a nice menu. I had a Croque Madame with some andouille sausage. It was very good.
According to the staff, the hotel has only been with Hyatt for about five months. Apparently, the owners changed management companies who opted for Hyatt.
If you like nice bars/happy hours, the Sazerac Bar(Roosevelt Hotel) and Luke(Hilton Hotel). The wife and I are big fans of Luke.
We were in for one night with a Cat 1-7 certificate. Thought it was definitely a good use. Will keep it in mind for the future as we usually attend Quarter Fest in the spring each year. Would not be surprised if it was a Cat 7 next year.
