Just sharing an experience, but I don't know where else I would post it, so I'm posting it here. I had a LAX - YXU trip booked for Wednesday (Feb. 12). Since there is no direct flight to YYZ from LAX that would catch the last flight to YXU, my booking was: UA622->AC504->AC8263. Tuesday, Feb.11 around 12:00 PST the first email arrived. AC 504 on Feb. 12 is cancelled due to weather. 23 hours before departure!! That was the point where I lost the first UA Y+ seat fee and a confirmed eupgrade on AC504. Since there was no follow up within a hour, I called the concierge. I got rebooked via DEN to UA1815->AC1040->AC8263. Again, I booked an Y+ seat on UA, got on the waitlist to AC1040 J upgrade. But then the next email came. AC8263 on Feb.12 was cancelled due to weather. Still about 24 hours before departure. This time, a rebooking email follower early. Now I'm on AC794 departing on Feb.12 late evening, arriving to YXU on AC8251 next day. Not good, I have a doctor's appointment on the 13th, I won't risk arriving late. Not to mention that I have lost my Y+ fee again, along with my eup waitlist position. Another call to the concierge line. This time the concierge is trying to convince me that I have to call Amex GBT as they booked the ticket. Beside the fact that I hate this useless outfit with passion, we were under 24 hours from departure. Meaning the ticket was under AC's control. I told that to the concierge, along with my desire to be back on UA1815 and AC1040, while dropping AC8263. For some reason, she got me back on the desired 2 flights on Feb. 12, but with AC8251 for Feb.13 as well. I didn't plan to take this flight (despite the SQS loss), I just wanted to take a cab to my home at London from YYZ at this time. Anyway, my booking was back. So I paid for the Y+ seat on UA1815 again and got back on AC1040 J upgrade waitlist. Feb.12 comes, I leave Santa Clarita very early. I turn in the rental Land Rover, get to LAX, check in, take UA1815. UA1815 lands at DEN, I take phone out of airplane mode, and guess what? There is a SMS saying that AC8251 on Feb.13 was cancelled, therefore I'm on AC1040 out of DEN on Feb.13 and my flight combination is now AC1040->AC8263 on Feb.13. Unacceptable. I definitely need to see my rheumatologist on Feb.13. So I'm running to the gate. The younger agent in LH uniform tries to direct me to Amex GBT again, but since we were 40 minutes from the scheduled departure, I reminded her that the ticket is under her control. She wasn't too happy about that, but asked a more experienced colleague to help. The more experienced agent got me back on AC1040 on Feb.12 and back on the upgrade waitlist too. The only thing she didn't do is dropping the last segment. So now I'm booked on AC8257 departing YYZ at 14:00 on Feb.13. A flight I can't take. Anyway, my upgrade on AC1040 has cleared and I arrived to YYZ around 18:00 on Feb. 12. There wasn't too much snow at that time. I picked up my luggage that was for some reason checked only to YYZ and took an airport limo home. Boy, did they became expensive since the last time I took one! Anyway, I'm home at YXU, but the app is still showing that I'm due to depart DEN on AC1040 on Feb.13 and continue home on AC8263. Then comes the email saying that AC8263 on Feb.13 is cancelled and now I'm on AC8251 on Feb.14. I left it without a reaction until the morning. In the morning, between two online meetings I sent an email to the concierge office asking to take me off from any flights remaining on this booking. Then I have gone to see my rheumatologist. When the email from Amex GBT notifying me that my reservation to London was cancelled arrived, I only smiled...
