Purely coincidentally I have 6 IB flights booked for this summer and autumn; their MAN-MAD service plus excellent cash prices mean they are a great alternative to BA for people in the north of England who want to fly OW but avoid LHR. They have messed me around a lot on timings though! It's years since I actually flew with them, but if the experience is a good one generally they will get my business going forward. I am a Spanish speaker and passport-holder as well, which will hopefully smooth the experience further.
That's Iberia Express, correct? Just FYI, they have EXTREMELY tight legroom if that matters. I find them worse than Ryanair, honestly for comfort of the seat at least. I'm 185cm/6ft1in so not short but not all that crazy tall.
It's fine if you get a business seat or can get an exit row.
