On the worst list, lounge 25 ranks for me worse than FCO Hangar. While it's small, ITA's flagboat lounge offers places where you can actually work. The food, while not impressive either in quantity or quality, is not vile. The drinks are excellent, from coffee to cocktails. When I was there, they had the best cocktails of any business-class lounge I'd encountered. Now, whether you want to enjoy a cocktail in a windowless lounge between flights is a different story.
Yes, you have to go through baristi for anything liquid, but they are professionals. Hate it or love it, someone decided to make the ITA lounge according to a coherent vision: an idealized version of a top-notch Italian bar. It just needs pastries and panini. The Schengen crown lounge is a confused mess reflecting multiple modifications and practical concessions to keep it operational.
Among flagboats, some mention should already be made of the Austrian Schengen business class lounge in VIE, which, when I visited, seemed to consist of a coffee machine, crock pot, and nowhere to sit. To that, I think I prefer "Prison 25".
