My question is: will BA give me any issues if my phone call to link the two bookings happens a couple of weeks after the Return flights have been booked online by me?
Don’t really know about two weeks. Only data point I have is I usually do it next day, but on one occasion it was four days and the agent did not say anything. Not sure whether you can use another form of communication to ask them to do it e.g. Twitter (but no idea because I don’t use it). Or call using Skype from the cruise at a point when Wifi is available perhaps? Suspect a satellite call may be available to you but would be pricey!
