As one of the moderators said, there's probably a reason why the A320 that was retired last month was repainted just seven months prior and quite possibly UA did not plan on retiring that aircraft so soon. Anyway, $mi$ek dumping the old pmUA 757s despite repainting and parking them shortly thereafter, well, that is another story. Bigger issue was he kept domestic capacity flat whereas it's quite obvious the airline could have gotten bigger, not to mention many of those 737-900ERs entered service without IFE and Wifi.

Well, they knew everything so much except for a certain EWR-CAE flight that had weird scheduling.
