Just in case you're not aware: Award flights on IB booked with AA miles will incur IB-imposed surcharges, though IB's surcharges are much lower than those imposed by BA. The surcharges on the transatlantic segment will be notably higher than those on the ATH-MAD portion of an award ticket.
AA does not impose surcharges on the flights it operates itself.
