A few years ago my Avis rental was rear-ended turning into a gas station less than a mile from returning the car at DFW. I took the other driver's info, drove the car back to DFW, informed the check-in agent the car had been hit, handed her the other driver's info, spent about two minutes reviewing the form she completed on the accident, and was on my way. The car was covered by my company's LDW provision so that probably helped, but I never heard another thing from Avis, my company, or any insurance companies.

I had a similar incident with a Hertz rental. Actually, it was a hit and run. The car was hit in a parking lot while parked, causing a huge dent in one of the doors. Other driver didn't leave any information. Upon return to Hertz, I spent less than 5 minutes with the manager documenting the incident and never heard from anyone after that. The only thing the manager was unhappy about was that I didn't call the police when I first noticed the dent. Not that it would have done much good, since I'm sure the other driver was long gone.
