There cannot be that many people close to GGLfL, far less those who are still actively flying - I know probably 3 people above 85k TPs who were targetting GGLfL (myself included), and so before I start booking using my newly minted Ultimate status with Air France, I'd like to see whether BA reach out.
My strategy will otherwise be to drop to Gold, and just plug away at the GGLfL figure using whichever OneWorld carriers I pick.

Interesting. I'm a little behind you on the TP numbers (around 70K), but will take my GfL status and my new AF Ultimate status and enjoy experiencing other airlines out there as the value proposition for maintaining GGL just isn't there for me at the new levels. Like you, I'll plug away at my Life Time TP earnings, but won't chase anything and under the new scheme, it becomes a very expensive goal to achieve for something I am not sure BA will honour for the rest of my travelling life time.
