Regarding the historical fare info, I assume that is something only available to premium members? As I cannot see it under my free account.
And to follow up on my situation: One way ticket was $1980, round trip ticket was $1970, so I booked a multicity (return from a different city in India to a different city in the US, just whatever pair made it cheaper than an actual round trip) and canceled the return, which resulted in a $286 refund (India to US) which was $215 in fuel surcharges and the rest in taxes/fees. I called to ask how that amount was calculated and was told it was what the system showed and that's what they could refund.
