I agree that Hertz employees are uninformed and offer weird responses. Nonetheless in every instance I've seen, my own included, Hertz did ultimately honor the specific commitments its employees had made to customers. If a Hertz rep tells you you have no points expiring in the next 5 years, subject to activity every 365 days per the longstanding 1 year rule, I think that's something you can rely on. And if Hertz dishonors what its employees told you -- that's straightforward for a complaint to your AG, a small claims lawsuit, or an arbitration action.
