Might I suggest Pink Flamingo? I just stayed there a few weeks ago during the cyclone, so the overall stay was miserable, but this is a very cute and charming place. I don't think it's totally gay, though, as there was one mixed couple while we were there (and to mention it, there were VERY few others there at the same time, some checked out early due to the cr@p weather, so we had the place to ourselves)

It's essentially across the street from the Sheraton Mirage. Beach access isn't great (prob 15 minute walk) but they have a great pool. The rooms were rather spacious as well, with outdoor baths/showers. And rates were VERY reasonable (apparently the owners aren't doing this for profit, more as a labor of love or something).
