Looking for information about best way to use miles to travel business class to Europe. Currently interested in late Dec or early Jan - MAD or ATH to DFW one way; but general information appreciated.

Is it better to try for business class award ticket or is it possible to book an an economy award ticket and pay for an upgrade?

Is there an existing thread that discusses upgrading awards?
