Cathay agent gave me HKE PNR and told me to contact them. HKE agent told me they couldn’t help and I should talk to Cathay.

Also I assume no issues using the lounges at HKG given it’s a J itinerary and CX codeshare (even though HKE doesn’t have J seats), but can anyone confirm? Also would I gain access to a lounge at DAD too?

No Lounge accesses at HKG for HKG-DAD or DAD for DAD-HKG, unless you are a CX SL/GO/DM.
Seat selections can be indicated (via CX), but will not assign unless you opt to pay for the seat (via UO).
