This doesn't seem like good news. A recent return trip on AY (LPA-HEL-SIN) would have delivered 1,150 EPs so basically Plata after completing that trip (crossing the 1,100 EP threshold).

With the recently-announced changes that trip would have generated 2,400 EPs... but with the threshold for Plata now raised to 3,500.

Lifetime qualification will also be hit, as 1,150 of 125,000 (just under 1%) is almost double of 2,400 of 450,000 that will now be required.

And I haven't even begun to look at what the Avios situation will look like...
