I am happy to announce that after complaining in person at the hotel, they reviewed their system and - without my having to talk to Amex again - Amex has now awarded me the statement credit for 2024 and the new charge for 2025 coded normally as a Hilton Resort. This means I managed to shave off $400 for my stay, which truly made it worth it, at only $321 for both nights in the peak of summer. Great deal. With this in mind, I'd say at stay at this hotel again for 2 nights. Queenstown is lovely but I really appreciated the peacefulness of this hotel and I did not mind the short boat ride. It's 10 NZD per person each way. Going for a run along the trail right outside the hotel was lovely and it was extremely convenient to get to/from airport as well as for day tour pick-ups. Breakfast was fairly good. They upgraded us for free to the "full" breakfast, an upgrade that would cost otherwise 10$/person/day. I don't think it's worth it to upgrade as "FULL" means only that you can order hot menu items. I took a picture (attached) of what this meant. We did not order any of these because we were happy with everything in the "continental" version, even if free to us. We also got complementary free hot drinks tickets both days for the other items on the menu (see attached). Staff was super kind. The indoor pool is a bit of a bummer but I guess it makes sense most of the year when the weather isn't as lovely. I have 20 NZD and a Bee card (5 NZD) remaining to be used for the boat shuttle that leaves from the hotel (you reload it at the reception). If anyone will be traveling to the hotel in the near future, send me a copy of your booking and I am happy to mail you the card with balance.
Hot beverages menu for breakfast. With Diamond, we got 2 complimentary tickets each day to order off this menu.
