They have actually just incentivised me to spend less. I was contemplating booking an upcoming weekend trip to Vienna in J, because that was 450 of the old Elite Points at a very decent cost and, while I was pretty sure I'll be above the old 50-segment threshold in April 2026, you never know whether you'll be unable to travel for a few months for one reason or another.

But, at only 40 segments, now there is no point and that's going to be a Basic Economy ticket.
