There is a pay cash option on the app. Enter the details of the ride you want, you will get a list of different vehicles with different pricing.
Scroll down, at the bottom of the screen just above the "Book Now" button, on the left is a "G" symbol, click on this and it will give you the option to pay cash. You may even to pay by visa on a journey by journey basis when you can't load a balance in advance.
