IC Tokyo Bay
Intercontinental Tokyo Bay, as Diamond Ambassador.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic Room Bay View + Classic Club Access River View, received Premium Room Bay View + Premium Room Club Access Bay View. I had lounge annual pass so only booked 1 room with club access for my parents.
How are the rooms?
Both rooms were xx01 at different floor. The Club room was high floor but it felt smaller, might be from the furniture layout as it has a huge working desk. Whereas the non-club room still has beautiful bay view, and a movable oval shaped dining table which felt more spacious.
How is the exec. lounge?
Breakfast was underwhelming. Stayed 4 nights and the menu/spreads didn't change at all.
Didn't use afternoon tea.
Happy Hour was great. Hot dishes changed every day and all of them were delicious.
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Service. I unfortunately needed medical attention during my stay and the hotel front desk assistant manager and concierge were so kind to help me call multiple international clinics, call an ambulance as no clinic was available, and even sent a concierge staff to accompany me on ambulance then spend whole day with me in hospital. I couldn't thank them enough as foreigners seeking medical treatment in Japan were usually rejected by hospitals unless they were accompanied by licensed translators (not even Japanese speaking friends & family). They didn't even want to accept tips (In the end I insisted it, though it's not the culture in JP)
Bad:
Location was not super convenient for sightseeing. I brought my elderly parents and we had to use taxis most of the days instead of public transport.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I used BPG to bring the room rate to ~38,000 jpy / 50,000 jpy per night. I think the value was not great but fair. I would definitely return for their service, especially during business trip.
