Medlink will provide recommendations as to the diversion airport based on the type of care the patient needs and the facilities and services available at each airport. That recommendation is considered, along with operational considerations and input from Dispatch, by the Captain in making his decision as to where to divert. Once the diversion airport is picked, Medlink coordinates with emergency services, airport personnel, and the medical facility to arrange for the care that the patient requires.
